SiLo's street sweeper comment has spun out of control. McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (1) Was just riffing off the humorous reaction to it by Andres125. It is a novel craft with amazing stats but in seriousness it cannot hang with an F1 car or really most motorsports cars on a level playing field, as you know. The skirt tech could be transferred, and this would be interesting (it would certainly alter driving styles).

That said, peace was never an option.

NP, lol. I am putting my sarcasm away ITT to discuss this actually interesting vehicle. If not Pikes Peak then someone should take it to Tsukuba and demolish the lap record.

It has similar proportions to another compact EV time trial special, the Tajima E-Runner, which ran Pikes Peak. The Spierling seems ideal for either a Nordscheife or Pikes Peak run.

If it can do 10 laps of Silverstone as claimed in that video (~33 miles) then Pikes Peak should be within reach at ~12 miles. Since it's all paved now with no curbs I'd think this would be an ideal location. Since it's a customer track car I predict someone will be sending it up within a year or so after deliveries.

Pikes Peak and Nurburgring both have atrocious road surface for a fan car. Current winner talked about McMurtry in one of his YouTube vids

Ye but have you seen the pavement at Goodwood? McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (3)

This thing is fast, but it's still pretty far of an F1 lap time

Formula 2 pace with traffic is still pretty impressive for something that could be road legal. If that's only 80% power and downforce like they say, fully maxed it should be competitive laptime wise with prime LMP1. To take the next step they should hire Andy Palmer as CEO.

Yes i agree its still pretty impressive, and it wasn't to put it down, more to say how extreme F1 cars really are

Lost maybe 4 seconds behind the McLarens, but gained part of a second from the tow of the Aston. Looked sluggish in the slow speed. Mercedes 2020 with party mode was a thing of beauty. The 2021 engine in that chassis would be mind blowing

From what I can find, Verstappens 2023 pole lap had a min speed of around 114 km/h in luffield, Bottas's 2020 pole lap i saw 116 but it looks like he carries much more speed into it and V's the corner more. On the dash for the speirling i saw 77 mph as the lowest, so it's very competitive with F1 in low speed corners (as you would expect).

Fastest race lap from Verstppen was 1:30, so 1:40 considering power and downforce at the Speirling was at 80%, and considering they had to overtake 3-4 cars during the lap, IMHO is utterly impressive McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (7) McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (8) McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (9) McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (10)

Why using euphemisms? Looks like you guys are afraid to say it clearly, the Speirling is faster than F1 cars on slow speed corners, 116 for F1, 123 for the Speirling.

Look, the world didn´t explode McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (12) McMurtry Speirling - Page 6 (13)
