I wouldn’t say that basketball is something I sit down and watch often, but if I did, I know the experience of yelling at athletes on TV would be much better with a delicious side in my hand. Like a pulled pork slider for example, or a super tasty chicken wing. So I thought I would list some recipes that are perfect for this occasion.

Crispy Onion Bhajis – I like to think of these as next level onion rings. There is nothing quite like biting into the crispy curried batter. Since these are deep fried, they should be served straight after they’re cooked. So you can make the batter in advance if you wish, and then just fry the bhajis when everyone is ready to eat!

Sweet Potato Wedges with Avocados and Sour Cream Dip – Love me some sweet potato wedges. The great thing about a wedge of sweet potato roasting away in the oven is that it goes all nice and caramelized around the edges. Which gives a beautiful flavour. And these wedges are very easy to prepare!

Honey Soy Mustard Chicken Wings – These wings have 2 layers of awesome flavour. 1 layer is a spice rub, and the second layer is a honey soy-mustard glaze. Both work beautifully together and create a flavour explosion.

Spiced Stove-top Popcorn – I am sure you’ve had the good old buttery popcorn in the cinemas, but it’s time to make things a little more interesting! It’s a healthier way to prepare popcorn, and the flavour combo is amazing!

Mini Filo Pastry Quiches – The filo pastry makes the quiches lighter, and it gives a crispier texture. You can make them in advance and reheat them later in the oven. And you can simply just serve these with some napkins. That way, you won’t have any dishes to clean. And you too can just focus on the game!

Vietnamese Spring Rolls with Spicy Peanut Satay Sauce – Another dish that leaves you with no mess or dishes. These are also super fun to make. They’re super healthy and you can prepare them in different ways. For instance, If you want to cook these spring rolls, I show you how to steam them and how to deep fry them.

Tempura Prawns with Sweet and Sour Soy Dipping Sauce – Crispy, light and addictive. And you can cook them very quickly. Serve them hot and fresh, and the guests may love them so much thay they might even forget about the game.

Arancini Balls Recipe with Tomato and Red Pepper Dipping Sauce – Definitely a game day dish worth preparing in advance, but once you do, you’ll realise just how worth it making these arancini balls actually is. The crispy outer layer, the creamy inside and the goat’s cheese in the middle take these arancini balls to a new level.

Prosciutto Wrapped Prawns with Pesto Dip – The pesto dip is easy to prepare, and prawns cook in no time. This is the perfect game day food!! And the crispy prosciutto turns these prawns into little flavour bombs.

Pulled Pork Sliders with Lemon and Yoghurt Coleslaw – The pulled pork isn’t difficult to make but just time-consuming. So if you have the time to prepare it beforehand, then these sliders are a walk in the park. Don’t know who can say know to these!

Beer Battered Fish Fingers – This one is great for the kids!! Just serve a tray of these crispy fish fingers and watch the crowd go wild.

Snapper Croquettes – A bit time consuming, but once they are rolled out they are very easy to just deep fry and serve. The filling is made out of a beautiful golden roux mixture, filled with white flakey fish. And they are coated in panko breadcrumbs, which gives a beautiful crispy texture once they a deep fried.

Veggie Sushi Rolls – Don’t leave the vegans and vegetarians hanging! These sushi rolls are filled with a carrot and red cabbage slaw, made with vegan mayo and it tastes awesome!

Seared Sushi Nigiri – And for the people aren’t vegan or vegetarian, excite them with this seared sushi nigiri. Make yourself look like a pro by searing the salmon right in front of them.

Pulled Chicken Teriyaki Quesadillas – Quesadillas work in just about any situation. Especially when they are filled with a teriyaki pulled chicken filling and oozing melted cheese. I promise you it works, and it works damb well!!

Cinnamon Dusted Churros with Melted Chilli Chocolate – Who said game day food only had to be savoury dishes? Serve up some chorrus with chilli chocolate and you’ll look like an absolute foodie master.

White Chocolate Drizzle Peanut Butter and Jam Cookies – Quick and fun to make, and nothing beats good homemade cookie. Unless you drizzle that cookie with white chocolate!!
